Social New Zealands is an editorial index of hotels. Eleven properties are described here across four categories — art, capsule, casino and ice — and each one is written up as prose rather than reduced to a row in a comparison table.

The organising device is simple. Think of a counting frame: one wire, four beads, each bead holding the properties filed beneath it. A hotel belongs to exactly one category, and the category has to mean something before it earns a bead.

What we do

We read, we describe, and we stop. Entries cover what a building is made of, where it stands, how a stay in it actually works, and what it asks of the guest. General characteristics only — nothing that would need a citation or go stale in a season.

What we don't do

No guest reviews, real or invented. No booking, no availability, no prices. The casino list is editorial — not paid placement. If you want to stay somewhere described here, go to the property or an operator you trust.

Nothing on this site is paid placement. No property has been given approval over its entry. Names and trademarks belong to their owners and appear here for identification.
